Fees and Bursaries
2018/2019 Courses and Fees
Please note that all cancelations must be made in writing or by email.
Pro Corda will refund 50% of the course fees provided that notice of cancellation has been received at least 6 weeks prior to the first day of a course. No fees will be refunded in respect of cancellations notified less than 6 weeks prior to the first day of a course other than in cases of illness.
If a student is prevented from attending a course by illness the Trustees may, at their discretion, refund up to 50% of the course fee on receipt of a written request from parents accompanied by a doctor’s certificate.
Registration deposits are not refundable in any circumstances.
Pro Corda tries to ensure that no student is turned away because of financial barriers so long as there is, in the view of the Trustees, a real need. The Trustees assess each case individually on a means tested basis. Students are encouraged to explore other sources of funding before applying for a Pro Corda bursary, for example, Help Musicians UK, The Wrightson Trust, Future Talent and Awards for Young Musicians.

Pro Corda can offer a partial scholarship award to students based on merit towards the fees of Prep, Primary, Junior, Intermediate, Senior, North and West courses. Students must send a letter of application explaining why they will be good ambassadors for Pro Corda initially to Annabel Thwaite, Director of Core Courses (email@example.com) - also links to a performance of two contrasting pieces via dropbox, WeTransfer etc. Please note that students can normally only apply for this award once.
Deadlines for application:
- 1st December 2018 for Combined Intermediate/Senior New Year Course.
- 1st February 2019 for Easter and early summer courses (Prep, Primary, Junior)
- 1st June 2019 for summer courses (Primary, Junior, Intermediate, Senior, North, West)
