Pro Corda has built an unrivalled reputation in the field of chamber music education since its foundation in 1969. It is now pleased to announce an expansion of its work to include young players of all abilities.

Pro Corda Plus is a new series of courses aimed at young string players and pianists (8-18) who are seeking the opportunity to further enhance their music making in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere guided by some of Britain’s most experienced chamber music coaches. The emphasis will be on the enjoyment of rehearsing and performing together, while addressing the fundamental principles of ensemble playing. There will be no formal auditions and applications can be made directly on line.

Between 2000 and 2005 Leandro taught cello and coached young chamber ensembles at Chetham’s School of Music. He also completed his postgraduate studies with Hannah Roberts at the RNCM and was awarded a PGDip in 2003.

As well as teaching, Leandro works as a free-lance cellist with several orchestras, including English National Opera, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Hallé Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Golden Age (on baroque cello).

Leandro moved to London in September 2005 to take up the position of Head of Strings at King’s College School, Wimbledon and since 2006 has been tutor of cello and chamber music at the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music.
