Course Intro
Age: 14-16yrs, school years 10-11.
Standard: Grade 8+
Dates: 1-7 August 2027
Course capacity: 26 students max.
The Senior Course gives talented and curious young musicians the opportunity to explore high-level chamber music repertoire in an adventurous and ambitious environment.
The course takes an intentionally open approach to repertoire, including classic works by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Dvořák, Shostakovich and more, alongside a wide range of other composers.
The philosophy of the course is summed up in one word: ADVENTURE. No repertoire is considered untouchable, encouraging students to explore challenging music with curiosity and ambition.

The course also benefits from Pro Corda's strong pastoral care, with relatively small numbers and experienced staff who provide a supportive environment for young musicians. Students have opportunities to develop both musically and personally, alongside a strong social element within the residential course.
