Matthew Jones is Head of Chamber Music and one of the world's most sought-after professors of viola at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

Alongside his work as a performer and teacher, Matthew is a composer, mathematics graduate and a teacher of Alexander Technique and Kundalini Yoga/Meditation. His particular interests in wellbeing, physical awareness and empowering musicians of all levels inform his approach to teaching.

Matthew has been described by Strings Magazine as the “finest Violist since William Primrose”, following his critically acclaimed Carnegie Hall debut in 2008.
