Tom Poster

Tom Poster is a versatile musician whose work extends far beyond the traditional role of the concert pianist. Praised as “a marvel” (The Herald) and “mercurially brilliant” (The Strad), he is known for his expressive tone and stylistic range. He has performed over forty concertos, from Mozart to Ligeti, with major orchestras including the London Philharmonic, Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic, and BBC Philharmonic, collaborating with conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy and Nicholas Collon, and often directing from the keyboard. He is co-founder and artistic director of the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective, Associate Ensemble at Wigmore Hall since 2020. The group is celebrated for imaginative programming, combining overlooked works with core repertoire, and has earned award nominations for its Chandos recordings. Highlights include debuts at the BBC Proms and Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, and US tours. Poster has recorded for BIS, Chandos, Decca, Orchid, and Warner Classics, and collaborates widely with leading artists. He has also appeared as a soloist on film soundtracks, including The Theory of Everything. He studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and King’s College, Cambridge.
